Arroz de chouriço (Chouriço rice)
Chouriço is a Portuguese typical pork sausage.
Made using salt, garlic, fat pork meat, bell pepper paste, white wine and sometimes liquid pork blood. Combine it with a nice piece of bread and pair it with red wine, and you will look more Portuguese than ever (mustache not required)
Ingredients
(serves 4)
1 chouriço (portuguese version if you can)
1 onions, chopped
2 garlic clove, chopped
Olive oil (virgin)
200 gr of Carolino rice (or any other kind of rice – except for rissoto)
Salt, to taste
Pepper, to taste
Instructions:
• Prepare the batter by combining the flour, egg and sparkling water. Whisk everything until you have a smooth batter
• Put the chopped vegetables and shredded cod into the batter. Season at taste
• Put olive oil in a frying pan (cover the bottom) and heat up on a high temperature. Place a small amount of batter into the pan.
• As soon as the sample starts sizzling, place a portion of batter preparation into the frying pan. Flatten it and fry until golden.
• Flip until both sides are golden. Serve with lemon or hot sauce.
